Provenance of this case

A real engagement delivered from the Santo Domingo hub (Dominican Republic). The client authorised publication without being named, so it is described by sector and size. The sector, the scope and the figures are those of the engagement.

Clinical document processing implementation for a United States health system

Mid-market, regional multi-hospital system

-79%
manual processing time
26 FTE
administrative staff redeployed
0
compliance findings

Extraction accuracy on clinical fields rose sharply, manual processing time fell, and twenty-six administrative FTE were redeployed from extraction to higher-value work, with zero compliance findings recorded. Full metrics are in the downloadable portfolio.

The problem

A previous vendor had trained on the documents that were easy to train on, leaving the health system's hardest intake documents unprocessed and its administrative staff buried in manual extraction. The system needed accuracy on its worst documents, with clinical review and no compliance findings.

What we did

  • Asked for the client's worst intake documents rather than the easy ones
  • Built intelligent document processing with human-in-the-loop clinical review
  • Redeployed administrative FTE from manual extraction to higher-value work
  • Held zero compliance findings across the engagement

Results

Extraction accuracy on clinical fields rose sharply, manual processing time fell, and twenty-six administrative FTE were redeployed from extraction to higher-value work, with zero compliance findings recorded. Full metrics are in the downloadable portfolio.

Figures relate to the period stated and were provided by the client. They depend on that client's starting point, so they are not a forecast for another operation.

Our previous vendor trained on the documents that were easy to train on. Corpshore asked for our worst intake documents on day one. That is the whole difference.

What stayed in place

The document-processing pipeline and human-in-the-loop review model are now the health system's standard for intake, and the redeployed staff have absorbed higher-value coordination work.
